Have An Ovarian Cyst, Appendix Removal Surgery, Vertical Surgery Scar. Applied Cream. How To Remove Scar?
Hello Doctor I am a 29 years old unmarried girl from India. I had an ovarian Cyst and Appendix removal surgery in 2006, resulted a vertical surgery scar below my navel. I have applied many creams but it remains unaffected. I would be very thankful if provided with suggestions that would help me to remove scar in quicker way with no side effects.
Hi ! It is not uncommon to get scars in abdominal operations specially with potentially infected surgeries. The main preventive step to be taken by you is not to feedle with the scar, and not to scratch it, even though there may be urge for scratching it due to the itchiness of such scars. If it has grown much, then you can apply some steroidointments to retard overgrowth of this scar. For any further invasive intervention, you should consult either your dermatologist or a plastic surgeon before jumping into anything else. All the best.
