Have Arthritis, Relief With Cocodamol, Ibprofen. Severe Pain In Ankle. Any Painkillers Available? Any Treatment Other Than Surgery?
I am 76, live alone with my two dogs. I have arthritis in every joint of my body and am just about managing it with co-codamol and Ibprofen.
At this time I am still managing to get about but have bouts of sever pain in my ankle/foot.
I have recently been told that my ankle needs an operation to fuse it to stop severe pain. This not an option as living alone I couldn't manage the 6 weeks in plaster and aftwards a heavy boot, which I feel will have a nock on effect on my other joints etc..
Are there any other pain killers available that my give me better relief or some kind of alternative treatment?
I am desparate and the worry is affecting my blood pressure etc..

Hello.There are other more powerful painkillers that but are not curative, it's just treatment for relieve pain.Curative treatment for ankle is the surgery.By now,in my opinion Tramadol 50 mg thrice a day can be taken for relieve your pain(is more powerful than painkillers that you have taken).Please consult your local doctor for a prescription.I wish you good health.
