Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
Abdominal bloating could be due to various conditions. They are:
-
Irritable bowel syndrome (abdominal bloating is one of the symptoms, and is seen after an irritant has been consumed, that could lead to an episode of IBS. But, will also be associated with other symptoms)
-
Flatulence (caused after eating certain types of foods. Avoid non-absorbable carbohydrates. Beans, broccoli, pulses, apples, cabbage, prunes, high sugar-containing foods, nuts, dry food, etc.
-Coeliac disease (gluten intolerance- avoid wheat, barley, rye, rice, etc.)
-Hormonal fluctuations (more common in women)
-Gastrointestinal conditions (GERD, peptic ulcers,
hiatus hernia, etc.)
-Bowel obstruction (is an emergency condition, but is ruled out if you are able to pass gas and/or stool)
For the time being you could consult a doctor and under his/her supervision start yourself on:
-
Proton pump inhibitors (
omeprazole,
lansoprazole, etc.)
-Antacids (potassium or aluminium hydroxide solution)
-H2 blockers (ranitidine, famotidine, etc.)
These will greatly help in relieving your symptoms.
Clear urine is a sign of good hydration, do not worry about this unless you have any other urinary or abdominal symptoms.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
