Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. Based on your description, most propably it could be a Subperiosteal hematoma (blood clot just beneath the outer layer of bone). Generally, this will be very tender to touch. This will generally resolve within 4-6 weeks. But at times it becomes calcified over a period of time and becomes "HARD" in consistency - calcified hematoma which is not abnormal. So I feel that there is nothing to worry and if you are concerned, consult an orthosurgeon for an evaluation. Hope this helps

Have Bump On Shin Below Knee. Hurt While Playing Soccer. Bruised And Swollen. Solution?
Hello, Trauma to the shin injuries the bone of the area because it is not covered by any soft tissue. There may be a hematoma formation in the tibia(collection of blood). You need an X ray of that part to diagnosis any fracture or Osteomyelitis. Consult an Orthopedic surgeon.
