Have Bumps On Back Of My Tongue, Bad Breath And Awful Taste. Should I Be Concerned?

I have some strange bumps on the back of my tongue. They have no strange discoloration, and are not painful. However, I have severely bad breath, and an awful taste, quite like spoiled milk, in my mouth. It has been going on for approximately three days, some times worse than others. I have brushed, flossed, used mouth wash, drank lots of water, etc. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Bumps you see on the back of your tongue could be referred to taste buds as long as there is no discoloration.

Bad breath and awful taste could be because of:
- sore throat
- chronic tonsillitis (infection of tonsils)
- GERD/gastritis
- bad (infected) teeth

If taking good hygiene of your throat did not work, then, I suggest to consult ENT specialist and dentist for further evaluation.

All the best!
