hello and welcome to HCM,
I have understood your concern regarding your throat problem and the feeling of lump in your throat.
You are already in the right track when you have reduced the intake of junk food and sticking to more vegetables.
You are in all probability suffering from reflux disease which is commiserate to all the findings you have described. This is a problem of lifestyle and diet which is fairly common and amenable top treatment.
However you must realize that medications in this treatment will only partially relieve the symptoms while more important is the diet change and lifestyle modifications.
I would usually start my patients on tablet pantoprazole-domperidome twice daily before food for two weeks along with an
antacid syrup thrice daily after food for two weeks. Your doctor will know about these.
The lifestyle and diet modifications which you have already partially started include:
- Avoid spicy, oily and high flavored food
- Take lots of green leafy vegetables
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol
-Avoid lying down immediately after having a meal
- Maintain an ideal weight and do regular exercise for the same
You must note that the medications will give you immediate temporary relief but cannot maintain a long term relief while the diet and lifestyle modifications will give you a delayed but long term and permanent relief.
take care and get well soon
If your symptoms persists then get an upper GI
endoscopy done and get back to me with the reports
Regards
Dr Sriram Nathan
