Have Chronic Pain Issues. Had Cervical Spondilosis. On Methodone. Failing To Control The Pain. Treatment?

Hi, I have experienced cronic pain issues for about 14 years. I have been on all types of pain meds. currently I am on methodone 10mg and percocet 10 mg in all I take about 90 mg a day and it is failing to control my pain issues which are my total ankle replacement issues and cervical spondilosis from a car accident. Any suggestions on how to speak to my pain management DR.?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
It is high time you talk to the surgeon who replaced ankle to evaluate cause of pain there. There may be some recent problems with alignment so it should be re- assessed. Cervical spondylosis is normally controlled by pain relievers and here too re-assesment of cervical spine by radiology/MRI is necessary. as if the pathology has extended to impinging of nerve roots it gives continuous pain. Pain management must address to removal of cause as well so that you gradually are weaned from prolonged use.
