Have Difficulty Climbing Stairs, Running, Pain On Knee. Healed Fractured Knee Cap, Tissue Damage After Accident. Cause?
I was involved in a shooting accident which resulted in my knee cap being smashed to pieces along with a lot of tissue damage to the side of my knee from the blast. Knee has heeled pretty well, although cant run and still uncomfortable to go up and down stairs or hills. Am lately getting a lot of pain on top of knee wondering if it is the wiring causing it?
Hello, it seems your extensor ,echanism was injured in the accident which along with the patellafracture is causing difficulty in running and climbing stairs. Pain can be due to retained hardware sometime or in late cases post traumatic arthritis which may happen in your case due to multifragmentary articular nature of your injury. You need to see the surgeon for a clinical and radiological check up and if the hardware can be removed now or lately.
