Have Ear Infection. Taking Methylprednisolone Which Has Side Affects. Can The Medication Be Stopped?
Hi, I was just prescribed a 6 day pack of methylprednisolone. I am to start with 6 , 4 mg pills today. I just took 2 pills. I don't like the side affects I'm reading and don't want to continue the medication. Can I stop now that I've only taken 2 pills? I know you're suppose to wean yourself off of these once you're really into the program. Plus I'm still on antibiotics for the same ear infection, 2 more days of those as well. I am thining I'll just ride out the pain for a few more days instead of making myself crazy with steroids on top of it.
Steroids are a very potent anti allergic medication, and are some times prescribed along with the antibiotic if the doctor suspects allergy along with the infection.
I would recommend you to continue with the medication as prescribed as stopping the medication in between can flare up the allergic phenomenon .
Thanks.
