Have Growth Beside Anus. Painful. Took Antibiotics. No Change. Advice?
I have a substantial growth right beside my anus. It is painful when I wipe. Before this appeared, I had several small bumps and one slightly bigger bump (about .5cm diameter) near my anus. They were not at all painful but they've been around for several months. A local doctor thought that it was a bacterial infection on/around my vulva and prescribed antibiotics and an antibiotic gel. I finished the prescription but the bumps are still here and today I found this larger, more painful growth.
It is important you get re-examined by your doctor or another doctor as there are several causes of growth around the anus. These could include hemorrhoids, abscesses, warts etc.
If the tumefaction is rather around your vulva, it might be an infection of a vulva gland and most likely infection of the bartholn's gland. In this case, a special incision and drainage will have to be done.
There are various conditions that look like your presentation but most are either bacterial or viral infections. As you have already finished using prescribed antibiotics there is possibility that it could viral or viral with secondary bacterial infection. Genital warts caused by human papilloma virus may also present similarly. Please consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis.
