Have Had UTI Several Times With New Sexual Partner. Why?
My first sexual partner and I never exhibited signs of gonorrhea . Several months passed between my first sexual partner and my current sexual partner. My current partner and I have been monogamous for about three months. This past month I had signs of a UTI and treated it and the symptoms went away. However, my partner also exhibited signs of a UTI but his symptoms did not go away and worsened a bit. He thinks I might have given him gonorrhea. Could this be true?
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, You are experiencing recurrent attacks of urinary tract infection. It may be due to resistant organisms, incomplete treatment, there may be some predisposing factor? Both should be tested for urine analysis and if there is discharge then also for STDs(Sexually transmitted diseases). Urine culture and ultrasonography of abdomen should be done to find out any cause like kidney stone. According to culture report proper antibiotics should be used and proper perineal hygiene should be maintained. Practice safe sex as it prevents STDs and also unwanted pregnancies. Hope this helps. Take care. Good Luck Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
