Have Had Diverticulitis, Painful Rib Cage, Tenderness, Stabbing Pain, Overweight. What Is The Cure?
I have had diverticulitis on occasion and the pain is on the left front side. Recently, I had similar pain on my right side on my back just below my rib cage. It feels tender to the touch and the pain has gone from stabbing to feeling like a painful pressure or like the muscles are "stiff"; however, it is an internal pain. It started about 12 hours after eating macaroni and cheese and I felt like that might cause diverticulitis symptoms. But checking on line here, it might be something totally unrelated? I am about 30 lbs overweight, but generally in good health. I don't exercise regularly but I am pretty active throughout the day.
Hi and thanks for the query, It is important to rule lout an infectious problem at the level of the chest. A chest X ray and eventually a CT scan could be good starting points. Overweight comes with health concerns like diabetes, lipid disorders and hypertension. It might be very useful to get the opinion of a nutritionist for an appropriate eating plan. Regular mild but consistent exercise could also be very helpful. A chest examination by an internist preferably coupled with X rays and CT scans could be useful. Kind regards
