Have Heart Stent, Taking Lisinopril. Low Blood Pressure, Dizziness. Overdose Of Lisinopril?
My husband is taking 30mg of lisinopril ! He had a heart stent 10 years ago andhas been working out every day. He weighs 180 and not fat. His blood pressure has been really low today 80 over 52, he was a bit dizzy at the gym. He is well hydrated and always drinks water. I think he is taking too much lisinopril what do you think?
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, Your husband is having high blood pressure and taking Lisinopril 30 mg/day. If his blood pressure reading is 80/52 it requires immediate attention as he is also dizzy.
Please ask him to remain in lying down position and recheck his blood pressure sometimes when electrolytes like sodium is low blood pressure may fall to low level. He should be examined by Physician and ECG should be performed to see it is normal.
We can withhold Lisinopril and once blood pressure starts rising can start with low dose to titrate his requirement.
Please visit your physician, and treatment can be planned. Hope this helps. Take care
Good Luck. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D
