Have Itching And Pimple-like Bumps On Anus And Groin Region. Could It Be Hives?

I have a issue with my groin and anus region. it constantly itches and has for quite some time. I have now noticed a enlarged side of my anus and little pimple like bumps around it. I have also noticed it seems I can't ever get it clean after using the bathroom, and it has a very distinct odor and it usually becomes very damp down there and then proceeds to itch and sometimes severely. what is it? by the way I am 36 years old and married. I have also been breaking out in hives as of late can this also be caused by the first problem?

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post suggest that you might be having Tinea cruris, a fungal infection.
Management includes:
1. Keeping the area dry & avoid too much exposure to water or sweat formation.
2. Antihistamine preparations like cetirizine to reduce the itching sensation & provide symptomatic relief.
3. Application of topical antifungal ointment like Clotrimazole to tackle the causative organism.

If symptoms still persist or aggravate further, then it will be better to consult a Dermatologist & get a proper examination done to find out the actual cause.
So that appropriate management steps could be taken.

Also avoid wearing tight undergarments and trousers...as it will cause sweating & predispose to fungal infections.
Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
