Good morning Sir,
My name is Sona Koticha and i am 39 years old. I am a Juvenile diabetic patient. I am on short acting insulin Actrapid and i adjust my doses according to my sugar level and i take Lentus every night 35 units. Insulin is putting on my weight day by day and i am very much worried about it. My height is 5.3 and my weight is 76kg. I have started to get some breathing problems also because of this excess weight and i am on anti-depressant tablets also. I take Oleanz 5mg twice in a week i have sleeping disorder also and my sugar also keeps on fluctuating i tried orlistat also but it did not help me loose weight. Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcare magic,
After going through your history, you are having Diabetes Type I and controlled by mixed insulin therapy.
It is possible to have some gain due to insulin if the dose is on higher side and causes hypoglycemia as diet can increase in calories.
You are also taking drug Olanzapine which is atypical antipsychotic and can cause blood sugar level to fluctuate as it can cause hyperglycemia as side effect.
Please take care of diet and take up some physical exercise, make sure to avoid hypoglycemia.
Consult your Endocrinologist and discuss about the proper dose of insulin.
Take care.
Good Luck.

DEAR SIR/MADAM

WELCOME TO HEALTH CARE MAGIC.

INSULIN CAUSES WEIGHT GAIN, IT IS ONE OF THE MAIN SIDE EFFECTS IN OBESE TYPE 2 INSULIN TAKING DIABETES PATIENT.

IF YOU WANT TO REDUCE YOUR WEIGHT.
1. HUMAN INSULINS CAUSES MORE WEIGHT GAIN, THAT TOO REGULAR INSULIN, SO TRY TO CHANGE TO ANALOGUE INSULINS RATHER THAN HUMAN INSULINS
2. TRY TO ADD METFORMIN 500 MG ONCE DAILY TO START WITH ALONG WITH ALPHA GLUCOSIDASE INHIBITORS, IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS, EVEN IT CAN BE TAKEN WITH INSULIN, IT WILL CHECK YOUR WEIGHT. PLEASE CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FOR ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS.
3. TRY TO ADD DPP4 INHIBITORS OR GLP ANALOGUES INJECTIONS, IT WILL AVAILABLE IN THE FORMS OF INJECTIONS AND TABLETS, WHICH NEEDS TO BE TAKEN ONCE DAILY .

ALONG WITH IT PROPER DIET AND EXERCISE NEEDS TO BE ADVICED.

THANKS
