Have Large Hematoma Above Right Knee, Painful. Can The Orthopedic Drain A Hemotoma?
I am 81 years old and have a large hematoma above my right knee. Have had it for about 30 years. I ve been going to an orthopedic in Rock Hill lately for injections for pain in my left knee - had 5 hyalagan shots in it. I had planned to go back for injections in right knee, but now believe I should just make an appointment with neurosurgeon to see about draining the hematoma first. It has become very painful around the knee and hematoma. I also take pletal for opening up arteries in legs. Can the orthopedic drain a hemotoma?
Hello there! Thank you for asking. If there is the hematoma the orthopedic surgeons or General surgeons can do that very well. its not the area of expertise of neurosurgeons. And Stop those injections in the knee. they have caused it. See the hematologist to rule out Bleeding Diathesis. Hope it all ends up well for you. Take care Dr S Khan
