Have Left Flank Pain. Urine Is Almost Red. Lost Weight, Tired. No Thyroid. History Of Phylenephritis. Treatment?
I have left flank pain (feels like my lower left rib is bruised, but I see nothing), my urine has been dark orange almost red looking. I have lost about 23 lbs in 2 weeks (not intentional). I am extremely tired, have muscle cramps, and i drink about 7-8 bottles of water a day. I do not have a thyroid, and have a history of phylenephritis (not sure how to spell that word).
Hi ! You have done well in spelling the word pyelo-nephritis. This is an infection of the kidney and urinary tract. I would like to know what investigations were done during the diagnosis of pyelo-nephritis. From the history of loss of weight to such an extent (23 lbs in two weeks) I will co-relate this to a chronic problem/infection like a tubercular pyelo-nephritis or some kind of growth anywhere in the urinary tract which has also resulted in possible passing of blood in your urine. I would suggest you to see a nephrolgist at the earliest possible to exclude these pathologies, who may advise for an ultrasound of abdomen with special reference to the urinary tract. Wishing you an early recovery.
