Hi, Chances of failure of tubal ligation are very little and tend to happen as healing starts which may sometimes lead to tubal recanalization. Scanty periods are a frequent finding after tubal ligation as are several menstrual disturbances. Yet, you should exclude pregnancy by taking a HPT with a fresh early morning sample of urine if you are at least 3-5 days after your scanty period. Estimation of serum beta-hCG is a more sensitive and specific method of confirmation/exclusion of pregnancy. Please see a specialist for further care. Wish you good health.
