Have Oversleeping And Lack Of Energy. Taking Paxil And Adderall. What To Do To Get Everything Back On Track?

Ive been oversleeping way too much and have no eneregy. This weekend I started paxil and im also taking adderall. I drank two bottles of wine and I just dont know whats wrong with me anymore. I cant get my life on track and my sleep and everything seems out of sync. I really would rather have some natural ways to alleviate this. I dont really believe in meds but idk

first things first u need to stop taking alcohol or any other substances in case u are serious about natural sleep , drink a cup of milk at night, brisk exercise in morning , avoid day time nap, have a comfort silent bedroom. avoid activating events late at night like watching movies and stuff, go to bed only when u feel sleepy. try to wake up at the same time every morning. in case u still have problem consult a psychiatrist

Hi,

Paroxetine (paxil) is an antidepressant that can cause sleep disturbances. You have not mentioned the reason for taking these drugs. Amphetamines (Adderall) can also cause drowsiness.

Paroxetine and alcohol when combined together, can cause increased drowsiness, difficulty concentration etc. Amphetamines and alcohol together can cause problems with your heart. Alcohol is best avoided while on medication.

Alcohol when taken alone late in the evening or night can cause disturbed sleep by itself.

Day time naps or drowsiness due to these drugs may cause disturbed sleep at night. Apart from this, get regular with your sleep cycle, avoid any tea/coffee or stimulants before bed time. Add exercise to your daily routine. Consult your psychiatrist for assistance.
