Have Pain In Neck, Shoulder. Had Turned My Head And Got Whipped Back. Muscular Or Skeletal? Recommendations

I have experienced a pain in the left side of my neck/shoulder for the past week. I don't know what I've done to bring it on, but it's the same pain I had in 2002 after being rear-ended, suffering whiplash. At the time my head was turned to the right, resulting in my head 'whipping' more to the side than straight back.

I'm wondering if it could be muscular, or skeletal?

Thanks, Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Its looks like cervical spondylosis .pain in the neck radiates to the shoulder or back could be Cervical spondylosis. Age is an important cause for this, increasing in age increases the chances of getting CS. Injury to the cervical bone and disc also a cause for CS. you can consult and orthopedist to resolve your problem. CT/MRI useful in diagnosis. treatment NSAIDs/ physiotherapy/ Surgical decompression
