Have Pain In The Right Hand. Seen Dark Bruise On The Hand. Was Physically Busy Day. Suggestions?
Hello I am very tired was about to go to sleep as its quite late and my right hand has become painful and I have a 2 by 4 cm bruise that looks dark on my right hand, I have had a very physically and emotionally busy day and also have a problem with my tongue and am going for a biopsy. However justy wanted to check on the hand bruise to see if I need attention now or if it can wait till the morning docters, thanks.
A bruise on the hand can be due trauma, or disorder of coagulation/ clotting. In case, it is due to trauma, you can wait for some time, it will resolve spontaneously. If it persists, you need to consult your doctor. A complete blood work up especially, platelet count and coagulation tests need to be performed to know the status of coagulation factors.
Consultation with your doctor earlier the better however, you can wait till you find an appropriate time to visit.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
