Have Phlegm Stuck In Windpipe And Shallow Breathing. Have Cold. Remedy?

Hi, I have a cold/ flu , don t know. I have lots of thick phlegm in my lungs, it seems, and when I coughed a little an hour ago, the phlegm almost blocked my windpipe, It was terrifying. Somehow I managed to pull some air through the blockage but am breathing in a shallow way now and fearing the worst as I there is still phegm stuck in my windpipe, I can feel it. I ve been in this situation before , a few times in my life, but this time the phlegm is unusually thick and doesn t seem to want to move. Please advise me. Thank you.

Hi welcome to Health care magic forum. You had a viral infection followed by secondary bacterial infection that too lower respiratory infection, so you need to have examination by a chest physician. Some timesif you use anti histamines for cold you can have thick phlem, causing difficulty in breathing and expulsion of the sputum.
I advise you to consult a chest physician for diagnosis and treatment, you may need to get the CHEST XRAY, besides other routine tests for confermation.
Besides i advise you to follow some diet recommendations as avoid taking fruits, juices, ice creams, ice water, for few days till you get complete relief as these are supposed to cause allergy and trigger the rhinitis and infection.
