Have Pink Eye. Taking Antibiotic Drops. Have Sore Throat And Red Bumps On Back Of Tongue. Related?
I started taking antibiotic drops 3 days ago for assumed pink eye, however this am I woke up with a sore throat and now a have about a half dozen red bumps on the back of my tongue and my throat is red and a bit swollen. Are they related or is there a possibility I am having a reaction to the eye drops? I am confused on what is going on. I have never had conjunctivitis before so I do not know what to expect.
Dear, As per the history you have given and the clinical findings you may be suffering with hypertrophy of the taste buds which are located at the back of tongue. these buds are called Vallate papilla. probably due to upper respiratory infection they are hypertrophied. you can start the antibiotic therapy for infection. I would suggest you to consult the Specialist if you don’t get relief as on examination the findings may be different and line of treatment may have to be changed. Please don’t hesitate to consult and ask for any more query. i will be pleased to answer. Yours sincerely The Health Caremagic Medical Team
