Have Psoriatic Arthritis. Now Have Numbness. It Has Started To Spread. Now Have Sharp Pain. Started After Remicade Infusion. Treatment?
Hello, I'm a 35 year old AA female with psoriatic arthritis. Two months ago I noticed a numbness sensation no pain about the size of a quarter in the center of my shoulder blade. The numbness area began to spread. Then 3 weeks ago, sharp pain in my shoulder and neck began. This started right after a Remicade infusion. Since then I've received what is on injection, prednisone, and massage therapy with no relief.I just got a MRI yesterday. Here are the findings type two curved acromion with a small spur. Mild acromioclavicular osteoarthritis. There's trace fluid within the subacromial subdeltoid bursa. I just got remicade infusion today. What does this mean, and should be treatment plan?
Hello madam. Remicade is the best treatment option available for psoriatic arthritis. Your concern about the shoulder pain after the infusion is not related. MRI is suggestive of a subacromial bursitis with mild osteoarthritis changes. The best treatment for that is to get an intra articular injection into the shoulder joint plus the physiotherapy. NSAIDS can be of symptomatic help. Dr. Jasneet Singh Rheumatologist
