Hi and thanks for using healthcaremagic,
These are classical symptoms, certainly compressions of the
sciatic nerve due to the condition. The management of sciatic pain from the beginning is usually medical. This starts from using analgesics, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, morphines, muscle relaxants and benzodiazepines depending on the case.
However, the physician might have to engage in injection
steroids into the region or surgery when it becomes necessary. This happens when the pain becomes unbearable despite all medical measures and life style changes like
weight loss and adoption of recommended postures, when signs of compression become too apparent and when there is
paralysis. This might cause your treating physician to opt for surgery.
I suggest you visit your neurosurgeon or
neurologist for proper clinical evaluation and morphologic examinations to actually discuss your treatment plan and options.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
