Have Severe Headache And Knee Pain After Taking Cortisone Injection In The Knees
I had a cortisone injection in both knees earlier today. One leg is fine like I didn t get a short. But other is in such pain A brace was placed on that leg.only. I only kept it on for an hour. I am icing it The pain is there when lying, walking and even elevating it. I also have a headache / which is quite common but I never has a headache before after a shot. I ve had discomfort after a shot but not this kind of pain pain. Thank you. YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for query.The problem you are experiencing is called Cortisone flare, which is a brief increase of pain for 1 to 3 days. It occurs when the cortisone crystallizes after injection. Rest, ice, and over-the-counter pain medicines, such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen, can provide relief.look for signs of infection Luke redness at injection site ,fever ,chills etc if you have any consult your disc other wise the pain will soon alleviate.regards
