Have Shingles Symptoms. Started With An Itching In Stomach. Increased To A Patch Of Rash. Have Pinching Sensation. Prognosis?
I am not sure how long I may have had shingles symptoms. I'm thinking over a week but not sure how much longer than 7 days or so. The symptoms started with itching on my stomach, then a think longer patch of rash. The patch of rash is not large (maybe 2-3" long & 1/2-3/4" wide) and not intensely itchy. The itch has turned into a "pinching" sensation/pain where the patches are. The "pinching" is not constant - it comes and goes. The symptoms so far are not intolerable. Since it has been probably over 7 days or more should I still contact my physician for treatment? If I don't get treated, will the symptoms continue to get more intense or do I have a mild case of shingles?
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. Firstly I do not think that you are having shingles. The description provided is more like an allergic rash. I would advise that you apply a steroid cream and take tablet cetirizine for few days. If its an allergic rash, it would respond in few days. If no response is seen, contact a dermatologist nearby. Hope this helped. TAke care
