Have Sinus Issues With Upper Respiratory Infection Symptoms, Body Stays Cool, But The Palms, Soles Are Getting Hot, Ear Pain. Reason?

I have sinus issues along with possible upper respiratory infection symptoms. I feel as though I am running a fever with chills and freezing at times. For the most part my body stays cool, but the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet are getting hot. My left ear really hurts and it goes down the back of my neck to the mid shoulder on that side. Why would my palms and feet get hot and should and should I be worried?

Hi and thanks for the query,

You need to receive appropriate treatment for the possible sinus infection or upper respiratory tract infection. Left untreated, complications like constant pain, brain abscesses, osteomyelitis or bone infection, mastoiditis can set in. It is not unusual to experience the symptoms you are experiencing at the level of your palms, especially during a blood infection (septicemia).

With my patients. I propose a complete blood count, culture and sensitivity test to diagnose and identify the exact germ causing the infection, and also know the exact antibiotic that treats the infection in question. I advise you consult your primary care physician. He shall identify most probable source of infection with aid of x rays for the sinuses and chest, and an oriented blood spectrum antibiotics course can be administered and on time to avoid complications. Thanks and hope this helps as I wish you the best of health. Kind regards.
