Hello,
Thanks for posting this question in HCM
Let me tell you that a given medical symptom can be due to various causes and the outcome depends upon the cause. For example fever can be due to
malaria, typhoid, tubeculosis, cancer and AIDS too.
Now let us see your question. You have
sleep apnea,
overweight and cold intolerance. I am sorry i don’t know your age.
Sleep apnea too can be due to various causes and the cause also largely depends upon the age of the patient. For example in the young age it can be due to mass in the nasopaharynex, tonsils etc. In middle age, it can be due to obesity,
diabetes etc. The constellations of symptoms you have provided could be also be due to coexistent
thyroid problem. Further, once the diagnosis of sleep apnea is confirmed, one has to determine the exact pressure of CPAP. For example you need a pressure of 15 and you are on CPAP, you will not benefit rather a BiPAP machine. If you have
central apnea also you may not benefit with CPAP machine and other machines are available. You need to lose weight which can be achieved by
diet plan, exercise. I strongly advise you to meet a physician who will determine if you have thyroid problem or not and also consult a sleep specialist who will determine the exact pressure and the types of machines to be used.
I hope this clarifies
