Have Sore BM, Draining Brown Substance, Discomfort. Had Fistulotomy. Will I Get Better?
I had a fistulotomy in March. At times, it's seems like its healing until I have a "big" bowel movement and then it gets sore and starts draining a brownish substance. It usually last for about a day or two but this time, it seems the pain is a little more intense and has moved to other side of my butt. This is the first time I've felt this much discomfort but usually this happens about once every two weeks.

hi..thanks for using HCM.. You have undergone fistulectomy and experiencing pain and brownish discharge after bowels movement.. it is common to have this for first few weeks after surgery because granulation tissues while healing may lead to such discharge.. since you are having it for more than 4 months, i think it could be secondarily infected.. see your surgeon to examine and prescribe some antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs.. all the very best.
