Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I had a fistulotomy last week and am still in a great deal of pain I noticed that this red plastic on assuming stiches are sticking out and poking me in my wound. Is this normal should I cut the tip of the stitches so I have some relief. I put a call into my Doctor but haven t heard back.
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history. The fistulotomy is usually not closed with stitches. It is possible that there is a collection of serum or blood or pus inside the cavity. You may cut a single stitch so that the collection can escape and you get pain free. Please continue the medicines as given by your Doctor.
