Have Sunburns. Had A Steroid Shot And Some Acetonide Cream. What Is The Permanent Cure?
hello, im having a problem with my cheeks getting red and hot on sunny days. This problem occured after I got a mild sunburn. On cooler days im fine, but when the temperature gets above 75° outside my cheeks get red and puffy. Like a butterfly rash. Im going to see a dermatologist in my area soon. My family doctor gave me a steriod shot and some acetonide cream which helped out a little only. Thanks for any help.
Hello, Welcome to health care magic. From your description, it seems that your skin has become excessively sensitive after an episode of sunburn. steroids will give you only temporary relief. Are you on any medications for other problems?Certain could make you restively sensitive to sunlight. It is also advisable to rule out a group of disorders called " collagen vascular diseases" which old make you sun sensitive. Please discuss with your dermatologist for further evaluation. In the meantime, use a sunscreen with SPF 15-30 and reapply every 3-4 hours. Hope this helped.
