I have swelling between my nose and left eye that was originally half the size of a pencil that ran to my gum. I went to dentist and they took 4 xrays and did heat and cold tests trying to decide which tooth was causing the problem. I have never had any pain from this other than the injection of pain meds before the extraction of the tooth. I went back the next week and was still swollen same as when I went in originally and the dentist opened the socket up and scraped it out and the gum swelling was reduced a lot and he said it looked like a blood clot that he removed with the scraping. However it is three weeks now and I am still getting some swelling under my eye when I am active doing household chores like pressure there from bending over alot or strain . Pushing on the area between the eye and nose and sliding my finger down towards my gums causes a pressure feeling at the socket where the extraction was done plus it feels like it goes to the tooth in front of the extraction. Dentist says that tooth wasn t involved and the swelling has never came back to gum area just in my cheek area. I am disabled on fixed social security income with no money for dental insurance only part a and b medicare and can t afford any extra expense and don t know what is going on or what to do. What could be causing this? Since there was no pain involved is it possible I have gotten infection in the bone from letting this go on to long not realizing there was a problem?
