Have Swelling In Hand And Knee. Had A Fall Earlier. What Could Have Happened?

I fell on my hand and knee today. I'm worried about my hand. Has slight swelling and is painful. Of course it's my right hand and I'm right handed. Very very painful when I try to pick something up no matter how light. I'm a nurse and don't want to be a baby about it. Trying to decide if I should get it seen or just wait and see if it gets better. Injury occurred 12 hours ago and I've been elevating and using cold compresses.

Thanks for using HCM. It would be best to se a doctor/Orthopaedic surgeon at the earliest.a X-ray of the injured parts would help eliminate a fracture,rest/ice/compression and elevation will help till you see the doctor.
