On 18 March 2013 doctor removed plaster, after that as on date i am having swelling over the ankle. Now i am able to walk only, still facing little bit problem while going down stairs.please guide me how much time swelling persist ? i am realy damn frustuated please reply
Hi Mr.Rahul, Generally swelling after plaster cast removal is normal for a few weeks, that too in the lower limb. Dont get worried. I advise you to keep your legs elevated while sleeping and to use stockinette during day time so as to keep the swelling to minimum. Get a check Xray done for your leg just to make sure that the fracture has united. Remember, a healed fracture will not give rise to pain. If you are still having pain at fracture site, it indicates that the fracture has not united. Thats it. bye
