Have Swollen Ankle, Pain On Ankle Tendons, Shin, Had Rolled Ankle On Ground. Advice?
I rolled my ankle yesterday and completely wiped out on the ground. I do not know what way it rolled but was in a very unnatural position. My ankle is swollen but I don't have much pain in the ankle accept where it bruised above my ankle.. It does however hurt up my shin and where my akellies tendons are ( back of foot). Any advise?
Most likely you have your tendons strained. It is very hard to tell which exactly not being able to examine you. Some of such strained tendons does not need medical attention. However in some cases even splint is necessary. Bones fractures should be also ruled out.
That is why I suggest you to have injured area X-ray performed and visit orthopedist. Physical examination should be performed and will tell either it is something serious or not.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
