Have Swollen Glands In Neck And Gums, Sore Throat, Fever, Infected Scratch On Finger From Cat. Taking Augmentin
My seven year old has swollen glands in neck both sides, sore throat and bottom gums are red swollen and sore. He says his jaws are sore. He has fever . He has an infected scratch on his finger, maybe from our dog or cat. His doctor has started him on augmentin ( co amoxiclav). I was reading about cat scratch online. Will this antibiotic cover that if it's the problem?
I am so sorry to hear about what your son is experiencing. Yes, augmentin is a good drugs and would control the infection that you child has. The infected scratch should also be cleansed and dressed daily to ensure proper would care and accelerate healing. If the child is not on pain medications and fever reduces, consider giving him some Tylenol to make him feel relieved off these symptoms.
