what does this mean; L4-5 diffuse disc bulge and right foaminal protrusion with mild moderate right neural foraminal narrowing with a right itraforaminal annular fissure . mild facet arthrosis. l5-s1: left central extrusion compressing and posteriorly displacing the left decending s1 root and resulting in moderate to severe left lateral racess narrowing. impression: large left central extrusion l5-s1 compressing descending left s1 nerve root

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

In your spine, MRI shows problems at two levels.

At L 4 -5 level, there is diffuse bulge of the intervertebral disc which is causing pressure symptoms on the nerve foramen on right side through which the nerve roots exit. There is also annular fissuring of the disc towards the right.

At L5 - S1 level, there is pinching off of the disc on the posterior aspect and this is causing pressure on the S1 nerve root on left side.

From the above findings, you might be experiencing moderate to severe pain on both legs. Taking neurological consultation and neuropathy pain treatment is essential.
