Have Two Movable Neck Masses Which Is Increasing In Size
I have two movable neck masses, non tender, painless and sized 1.5cms and 1cm repectively behind the posterior cervial region of the neck. Along with that I have a strange irritating but painless sensation in the left parotid gland also. Apparently there appears no swelling on the face. There are absolutely no other symptoms at all. One of the masses (1.5 cm one) is unilaterally long and the other appears more like a pea. These neck masses dont appear to me as having grown but they might have very minutely increased in size over the past 1 year since I have been noticing them. What could it possibly be?
You seem to be having cervical lymph node enlargement. Now the size of lymph nodes that you have mentioned is not that significant so as to be a cause of concern. Any kind of dental problems, pain or infection in ear or salivary glands or even a sore throat can lead to some degree of enlargement of the neck lymph nodes. Since the lymph nodes act as barriers and prevent the infection from entering the main blood stream, so a minor enlargement of these nodes is usually not a cause of concern. However if their size continues to increase or he there is associated pain and discomfort, you should see a nearby ent specialist for the same.
