Have Uncontrollable Diarrhea. On CoPlavix, Crestor. Am Intolerant To Lactose. Cure For Symptoms?

My cardiolologist (Jason Kaplan) and my GP (Kevin Collins) have me taking CoPlavix, Crestor (both, apparently have lactose in them BUT I am lactose intolerant, I am also on Exforge, Vitamin C, Bergamet, Kyolic Garlic, Omega 3 (Fsih Oil capsules), Vitamin D . What is your advise re the diahrea effect of most of these tablets.
My GP advised that I must keep taking them but, at times, I have no control over the diahrea or repeated need to make my bowels - not necessarily billiousnous in that, at times I need to go up to seven times a day - sometimes within the hour of the previous movements?
Thank you,

Joe Newman

Hi and thanks for the query,

the very first thing is being sure that the diarrhea actually experienced is due to these drugs. Secondly, whether to intervene depends on the intensity of the diarrhea and the repercussions on your health and quality of life. If its that intense, left untreated could cause dehydration and malnutrition which could on the other hand worsen the clinical scenario.

Symptomatic treatment could be offered as the exact cause is actually investigated. Intolerance to lactose is a common possibility. Your gastroenterologist and allergist could be of great help under these circumstances.

Best regards and wishing you good health.
