Having A Large Hard Lump Outside Patella. Had Menisectomy, Sinding-larsson-johansson Syndrome Before. Suggest?

I have a large hard lump on the outside of my patella which has been there for some time now but has only recently started hurting. I had a menisectomy last year to repair a torn meniscus and I have had sinding-larsson-johansson syndrome as a child on the same knee . I play soccer every day at a high level and I am worried about it.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The large hard lump on the outside of the patella is a worrisome finding. You need to get an MRI scan of the knee done to find out the type and extent of the swelling.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
