Having Atrophy In My Optical Nerve And Have Lost Vision Of My Right Eye

My age is 48 years approximately and height 5.7 in May 2010 I met with a road accident whereby I sustained head injury whereby I had atrophy in my optical nerve whereby I have lost vision of my right eye though i have vision in my left eye. According to MRI report i have recovered from internal head injuries but due to problem in optical and radial nerve I do not feel 100 % fine. Please sugest what should I go for. I am taking physiotherapy at present.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Dear what you have is called as traumatic optic neuropathy, also called as optic atrophy , there is no treatment for this , as far as it's treatment is concerned there is no treatment for this. As far as natural recovery is concerned you need to wait n watch but to correctly prognosticate the prognosis is not good

Ophthalmologist Dr. Mahesh Agrawal's  Response
Dear u have got Traumatic Optic Atrophy for which unfortunately there is no treatment at present but research is going on!!!
In brief i would like to explain what it is - Our eye is connected with the brain through a fine and delicate structure called as Optic nerve which in fact is made up of millions of fine filament like structure. It passes from eye to brain thru very narrow and compact bony canal which in few cases get hurt/fractured. After fracture the nutrition of the nerve compromised and it gets thinned out gradually and ultimately Atrophied. There is no treatment to rejuvenate this atrophied nerve.
I hope u may satisfy with this answer
Good luck
