Having Cast On Foot, Burning Sensation And Numbness Of Toes. What To Do?
I have cast on foot for a week now but lately it's swell and feel numb when I drive or put my foot down on ground. I try to elevate and swelling went away but foot fell numb and heal have burning sensation. I went back to have cast loosen but still have numbness feeling unless I massage my toes. How do you get rid of burning sensation on heel and numbness.
It is likely that you got some of your vessels compressed by the cast and that is why you are having the sensation of numbness. Massage helps to liberate the muscular compression and permits blood flow.
However, it would have been important to state the type of injury you sustained because in case of fractures, you could have distal ischemia resulting from injury to blood vessels or nerves.
You need to re-visit your doctor for a neuro-vascular examination.
Hope this helps you. Best regards Dr Achuo
