Having Chest Pain. Took Antacid, No Improvement. Treatment?

Hello, yesterday evening I started experiencing chest pain. It happens when I take a deep breath and it's a sharp pain right under/behind my left breast. I tried taking antacid tablets and drinking milk/water but nothing seems to help. It went away for a little this morning but I just ate and now it's as bad as it was yesterday, what could be wrong?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
After going through your history, any chest pain must not be ignored so please get yourself examined by a good Physician and get a EKG done to be on safer side.
your pain could be related to pleura as the pain increases on deep breath, so physician will confirm it and if needed an X ray chest may be taken to detect if there is any thing.
This can be treated with antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs.,further treatment depends on cause.
Acid peptic disorder is another possibility but antacid did not help so this is less likely.
The local ribs and muscular pain is another possibility which will be clear after examination.
Hope this will help ,get physician examination as soon as possible,in the meantime if pain can be relieved by taking analgesic like Paracetamol.
Please take good care of yourself.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

You ought to see a doctor and have some investigations...
Pain from the heart is oppressing, in central chest (and left), worse on effort, relieved by rest, may radiate to shoulders and arms, associated with sweating and so on. Your pain is not suggestive of heart pain - it may be Oesophagitis, muscle pain, pleuritis, anxiety.... Still it is wiser to be investigated...
You have not stated your personal habits, family history or co-morbidities, even age, gender...which could have an influence on the diagnosis and outcome...
See a doctor..

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

Hi,
Thabks for using healthcare magic.

I have gone through your history. You may have developed severe gastritis and because of that , you have this pain. But you should also rule out othet causes like local injury or infection or even cardiac causes which is less likely in your case. For that you need to consult your physician .
You may get benefit from regular course of antacids and proton pump inhibitors like pentoprazole.

Avoid spicy food for some time.

Thanks.
