Having Cough, Dryness In The Upper Respiratory Tract. Taking Amlong And Minipress For Hypertension. Any Advice?

Having cough and dryness in upper respiratory tract for couple of monthss. At times it seems alright only to return later. But surprisingly it does not bother me at night .there is some expectoration but not too much. I take Amlong A and Minipress 5 mg for BP. Am 55years old. I jog 3 kM every day in the garden . The problem occurs more during the day. Eating or drinking some thing makes me feel better for awhile. No fever or headache etcs.

I read your query regarding irritation in throat, though this is not hurting you and you feel better after drinking water etc.

As you said that you are taking medicines for control of your blood pressure. There are few antihypertensive medicines like ace inhibitors are well known for producing dry cough, so you may discuss the same with your treating doctor. In the meantime you may take-

1- tab Cetrizine.

2-warm saline gargling.

3- cough sedative lozenges.
