Having Difficulty In Speech. Able To Speak Very Slow. Trying To Learn Sign Language. Suggestions?
I have speech problems which have come on slowly over several years and not as a sudden stroke . I haven t had any answers medically, despite extensive enquiries. I am at the stage of seeking assistive technological answers. I avoid speaking on the phone, although I can speak slowly - too slow for people to listen to! And such personal effort! I am currently thinking of learning sign language. Can you help?
I went through your description. You have speech difficulty and there is no medical problem which can be explained by doctors. Is it stammering? Is there any damage to vocal chords?
These things can be determined if you visit a speech pathologist. Your problem might be solved technically upto some extent by a speech therapist. Do consult them for further advice.
Hope this clears your doubts. Available for further clarifications. Good luck.
