Having Enlarge Uterus With Multiple Intramural Uterine Myoma And Ovary Cyst. Treatment?

I am 38 years old, female. Year 2011 i was diagnose of having enlarge uterus with multiple intramural uterine myoma and ovary cyst . Mild pelvocaliectasis, left kidney possibly due to infection or secondary to distal ureteral compression secondary to enlarged uterus. I am very much afraid of any surgery so until my myoma was not remove. My problem now is, I has been feeling back pain for some time now, so i undergo urinalysis but the result is normal. Right now i can feel my feet is swollen and my eyes i m worried already. I went to see my OB-Gyne and have vaginal ultra sound it is seen that my myoma is getting bigger, she did not advise me of immediate operation she only advise me to take medicine. My question is, First is there any other possible treatment that my myoma will be reduce by taking any herbal medicines or what ever. Second is the swollen of my feet has a connection with the mild pelvocaliectasia, due to enlargement of my myoma?...Please help me i am very much bothered...thank you and more power

Hi,

let me answer your questions one by one.
1. I do not know of any herbal medicine that reduces myomas. As of now, in modern medicines we have drugs like GnRH analogues that may decrease [not make them disappear] the size of small myomas but the results are short term and not very encouraging. Other options are blocking the blood vessels that nourish the myoma with again similar results. he tumors will not go away with prolonged use and the side effects are many. They are used usually before surgery to decrease the blood loss by decreasing the tumor size. T
2. The swelling over feet may be due to an enlarged myoma, enlarged ovarian tumor causing compression big blood vessels and pooling of blood in the legs.

If a patient like you walks into my clinic, I would sincerely suggest surgery as the tumors are compressing the ureter and damaging the kidney and compressing blood vessels that may lead to blood clots which are more serious issues.
Please get over the fear of surgery as these are routine procedures. Also they can be done laparoscopically and you will be discharged in 1-2 days and be symptom free.

Hope you find this useful. Good luck and take care.
