Having Fever, Back Pain, Leg Pain. Took Bactrim For UTI. Waiting For Culture Results. Is This The Correct Treatment?
My 8 yr old daughter was given Bactrim 3 days ago for a 'bad UTI.' However, she continues to feel sick and has developed fever, back and leg pain. She's very drowsy. The clinic is telling us that they won't have the results of her culture for another couple of days. Should we continue waiting for the culture results or take her to the ER for additional testing.

Hi,
As she is having bad UTI, it seems that she is having this fever due to UTI.
Now as Bactrim is not working, we have to wait till culture report comes.
Meanwhile give her paracetamol for fever and body-ache to get symptomatic relief.
Give her plenty of water.
Give her light diet.
After culture report go for specific antibiotic medicine course, prescribed by your doctor.
Ok and take care.
