Having Irregular Periods, Treated For PCOS, Diagnosed With Simple Hyperplasia Without Atypic, Continuos Pain In Lower Abdomen And Back. Cure?

i am 29 year old, married and have a 3 year old baby. I am having irregular periods since last 1.5-2 years and was being treated for PCOS since last 1.5 years. Around 3 months back i got one ultrasound done wherein it was observed that the thickness of endometrium is 22 mm. I have been recommended for DNC and got the biopsy done. I was diagnosed with simple hyperplasia without atypia. My gynea advised me to take Primolut N for 3 weeks cycle. I did that for around 18 days and i got period which was normal and was my last period. Since then i have been taking Primolut n and was not so regular with the medicine. Took the medicine for 30 days (effectively 21 days as i missed the medicine in between). I stopped the medicine 3 days back and have still not got the period. Can you pls suggest whether should i continue with the medicine or stop it as i m not getting my period this month. I also have continuos pain in lower abdomen and back

Hello and welcome to HCM,

As you have mentioned that you are suffering from PCOS, the treatment of PCOS is required.
Menstrual abnormalities, and disorders of ovulation are present in PCOS.
In this condition, the ovarian follicles do not mature completely to be able to release mature ovum in each menstrual cycle.
Consult, your gynecologist for clinical examination, relevant investigations and management.

The finding of simple hyperplasia without atypia indicates that there is overgrowth of the endometrium.
Primolut inhibits the proliferation of the endometrium and regularizes the menstrual periods.
However, if the cycles are not getting regularized after treatment, it may be due to associated PCOS.
So, consult your gynecologist for management of both the conditions.

Thanks and take care
