Having Loose Motions, Fever And Vomiting. Given Mmetrogyl And Calpol. Tongue Turned Black. What Can Be Done?

My daughter (Age: 10 days short of 2 years, weight 9 kg) is having loose motion with occasional fever and vomiting for last 10 days. For six days she was given 1. Mmetrogyl (2.5 ml) thrice daily, 2. Calpol 2.5 ml in case she had temperature, 3. Emset 2.5 ml if she vomited 4. ORS 5. Bifilac
when things did not improve much she was given Taxim O (50) 5ml twice daily and bifilac for three days.
Now, we notice, her tounge has turned black though she is not having fever and frequency of loose motion has reduced.

Pediatrician 's  Response
The blackish discolouration of the tongue can be cleaned easily with a cotton bud dipped in plain glycerine (available in pharmacies). It is most likely a reactive overgrowth of the skin of the tongue, but it could be because she was ill and the tongue was not cleaned as it is usually when she is well. Do this rubbing two or three times a day for a few days and the problem will resolve itself.
